A man was stabbed to death inside his home in North Charleston's Russelldale neighborhood on Monday night, authorities said.

Police said they initially responded to a call about an unconscious person at a home on Elder Avenue at 10 p.m.

Delbert Cooper, 36, suffered multiple stab wounds shortly before police received the call, Deputy Coroner Dottie Lindsay said. He died inside the home, where he lived.

No suspects had been identified by Tuesday afternoon, according to Spencer Pryor, public information officer for North Charleston police.
