Five members of the College of Charleston's School of Business and Economics faculty have earned the Certified Global Business Professional designation from NASBITE International. They are Roxane Delaurell, David Desplaces, Hao-Chen Liu, Jim Mueller and Henry Xie.
NASBITE International is a nonprofit organization of educators, trainers and practitioners in the field of international trade.
Tammy Gleaton Simpo, a senior analyst with the S.C. Research Authority, has earned Certified Enterprise Architect certification from Carnegie Mellon University and IBM-Telelogic.
Kelley Glenn of Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International Inc. has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute. Also, she represented the tenant, Nantucket Brand, in the leasing of 1,566 square feet of retail space at 346 King St.
Blair Belk and Trey Lucy of Grubb&Ellis|Barkley Fraser represented the landlord in the leasing of 1,258 square feet of retail space to a nail salon at Village Square Shopping Center on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard.
SunTrust Bank has opened its 12th branch in the Charleston region at 850 Folly Road on James Island, inside the Bi-Lo grocery store.
ComForcare Senior Services Home Care, which provides in-home assistance for seniors and disabled individuals has recently opened a franchise in the Charleston at 2225 Ashley Crossing Dr., Suite 201. The owners are Richard and Helene Glassman.
Jeff Yurfest of Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International Inc. represented 2817 Maybank Investment Group LLC in leasing a 1,750 square feet of retail space at Island Oak Shopping Center on Johns Island to Gentle Grooming.
Bob Studebaker of Coldwell Banker Commercial represented the owner, Sealoflex, in the leasing of office space at 2516 Oscar Johnson Drive to Live Sound Engineering.
Charles S. Carmody of CB Richard Ellis Carmody LLC, represented the building owner in the lease of 4,100 square feet of office space to Principal Life Insurance Co. at 465 Coleman Blvd. in Mount Pleasant.
Carolina First Bank has opened its eighth branch in the Charleston region at 865 Island Park Drive, Suite A, on Daniel Island.
