CAR SHOW CALENDAR
Today
Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present the "Homes for the Holidays" Open Car, Bike & Truck Show, sponsored by Marathon Chevrolet of Summerville. The show will be 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Registration, which is $10 per vehicle, will begin at 11 a.m. at Marathon Chevrolet on Main Street in Summerville. Thirty trophies will be awarded by class size, and there will be three Sponsor's Choice trophies. Classes will be Corvettes; motorcycles; sport compact; Mustangs; street rods; trucks; and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89 and 1990-2007. Proceeds will go to the Frances R. Willis SPCA, which will be accepting donations at the show as well. This is the club's final show for 2008. For more information, visit www.4cccc.org.
Kustom Shop in Goose Creek will present a Car & Bike Show and memorial fundraiser for 9-year-old Tyler Capers. The show, at Riverfront Park at the former Charleston Naval Base, will be noon-6 p.m. Registration for bikes is $10, cars is $15. Judging in all classes. Music by DJ Goldie and Buck Smooth Easy. Food, games, jumpcastles. Proceeds will go toward a reward for information about Capers' death. A Classic Cruise-In sponsored by Lowcountry Mopars will be held 6-8:30 p.m. at Applebee's, 1310 N. Main St. (U.S. Highway 17A) in Summerville. Classes include trucks; Corvettes; Mustangs; street rods; import/tuner; and years 1900-63, 1964-74 and 1975-2008. Entry fee is $5 per vehicle. Contact Betty Harris at 797-3246 for more information.

The Lowcountry Corvair Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 at Ryan's Family Steak House, 7321 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. All Corvair owners and enthusiasts are invited. Nov. 21-22
Street Rods Unlimited will present "Doin' the Charleston 2008" at the Exchange Park in Ladson. The event is for street rods years 1948 and earlier. Pre-registration, which is $30 per vehicle, has a Nov. 8 deadline. Registration after that date is $50. An extended show and auction with music by Cruise-O-Matics will be held Friday at Quality Suites at 5225 N. Arco Lane in North Charleston. Cripple Dog Hot Rods will present the 2nd annual "Carolina Open Car Classic & Hot Rod Run" at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant. This year's show will be a three-day event including classic cars and trucks from across the East Coast as well as displays, contests and family entertainment.
