Sullivan's Island soon will welcome Cafe Medley, a new cafe on Middle Street.

Now open

North Charleston: The Rendevous has opened at 7832 Rivers Avenue (phone 572-1566). The buffet-style restaurant is open 11 a.m.-2 a.m., seven days a week. Expect to find all-American favorites such as steak, lobster, Kobe beef and pizza, just to mention a few.

James Island: Vince Lombardi, the other one, has opened Lombardi's Italian Restaurant at 979 Harbor View Road on James Island. Lunch is served 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Saturday; dinner is served 5-9:30 p.m. during the week and 5-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It is closed Sundays. For more information, call 795-3133.

Mount Pleasant: Neil Jordan's Steaks, Seafood, Dessert Bar has opened at The Market at Oakland. The restaurant is at 1121 Oakland Market Road. Hours are 11 a.m.-midnight Tuesday-Sunday; Sun. brunch, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.; and closed Mondays. For more information, call 388-7827.

Southern classic

The Francis Marion Hotel at 387 King Street is now serving a weekend Southern breakfast brunch with complimentary bloody Marys or mimosas. Served 6:30 a.m.-noon Saturdays and Sundays. For more information, call 724-8888.

Art fundraiser

Creative Spark Center for the Arts' fall fundraiser, Art On The Beach, is now adding chef demonstrations, musical entertainment and restaurant receptions along with the popular tour of homes. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased in advance. Call the Creative Spark at 881-3780 for tickets and more information. This event will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, with the reception at Station 22 Restaurant and Bar following the tour.

Eat green
