Robber slashes car salesman's arm

Wednesday, May 28, 2008

RAVENEL — A man with a knife slashed a salesman's arm during a robbery at car dealership Sunday evening, the Charleston County Sheriff's Office said.

Two men walked into Lewis & Lewis Automotive at 5378 Savannah Highway at 8:23 p.m. and asked the salesman for money, a report says.

When he said he didn't have any, they forced him to the ground. During the confrontation, 47-year-old Paul David Newman was cut on the right forearm.

The assailants rummaged through an office and left with a bag of cash, the report says. After they left the business, one went left, the other right. Deputies did not make any arrests.

Left with a bag of cash. Almost sounds like an inside job.
