1995: Actor Christopher Reeve was paralyzed in a riding accident in Virginia.
1998: Actor Phil Hartman was shot to death by his wife, Brynn, who then killed herself. Hartman was 49.
2003: Angelina Jolie's and Billy Bob Thornton's divorce was finalized.
2005: Carrie Underwood beat out Bo Bice to win the fourth season of "American Idol."
2006: Katie Couric appeared for the last time on NBC's "Today" show after 15 years.
