FEDERAL REPORT: A final report from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is not due for another three to four months. City and Fire Department officials as well as family members of fallen firefighters and firefighters' unions have until June 10 to comment on the agency's draft report, which the city made public last week.

NEW CHIEF: The city plans to contract with a professional firm to conduct a nationwide search for a new fire chief to replace Chief Rusty Thomas, who announced his retirement Wednesday.

OFFICIAL CAUSE: The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has completed its report on the cause of the fire but not released it.
