Senate approves GOP official for SPA board

The state Senate has approved the appointment of Bluffton GOP official Doug Robertson to the State Ports Authority board.

Robertson, treasurer of the state Republican party and a former Beaufort County GOP chairman, was nominated by Gov. Mark Sanford in February.

He replaces James A. Bennett of Columbia, whose term expired.
