Banking

Jerry Beach, Andreana Valicenti, Carl Rowe and Carrie Pearson have been promoted at Southcoast Community Bank of Mount Pleasant.

Beach is regional business development officer. He joined the company last year as a business development officer. Previously he owned Advanced Cellular for 21 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in business and economics from Presbyterian College.

Valicenti is an assistant vice president. She joined the company in 2006 as a financial services representative. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Presbyterian College.

Rowe is a vice president. He joined the company in 2002 and remains controller. He has 30 years of experience in accounting. He holds bachelor's degrees in economics from Clemson University and accounting from the University of South Carolina.

Pearson is an assistant vice president. She has worked for the company for five years and remains human resources manager. She holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and management from the University of South Carolina.

Construction

Robert Cald-well has joined Charles Blanchard Construction Corp. of North Charleston as general superintendent of the industrial mechanical division. He has more than 30 years of experience in construction.

Education

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Colby M. Broadwater III has joined the American College of the Building Arts as president. Previously he was project manager for Northrup Grumman's advisory and assistance services contract with the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Washington, D.C., and Belgium; and served for 34 years in the U.S. Army, most recently as chief of staff, U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. He holds a bachelor's degree in history from The Citadel and master's degrees in international relations from Salve Regina University and the Naval War College.

Engineering

W. Ryan Ivy has joined Tobias & West LLC as a structural designer. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing and international business from the University of South Carolina and is a civil engineering student at The Citadel.

Law

Nancy K. Tracy has joined Clawson & Staubes LLC practicing residential and commercial real estate transactions. She holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University and a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Previously she was research editor of the ABA Real Property, Probate and Trust Journal and a law clerk for Judge John W. Kittredge.

Medical

Jason C. Gantt and Joshua Smith have been promoted at Palmetto Behavioral Health System.

Gantt is director of utilization management, documentation systems and patient advocacy. He joined the company in 2001 and previously was an adjunct professor of English at Columbia Junior College.

He holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and creative writing and a master's degree in education from the University of South Carolina.

Smith is vice president of human resources and facility services. He joined the company in 2002 and previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds a bachelor's degree in business from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Modeling

Elizabeth McCarley "Buffy" Cauthen has joined Millie Lewis Model and Talent Agency in North Charleston as director of marketing and recruiting/scouting and main instructor. Previously she was an international scout and model for Page Parkes Model and Talent Agency in Houston. She holds an art degree from Converse College.

Nonprofit

Alexandra Glasgow and Elizabeth Mobley have joined the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Glasgow is membership development clerk. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communications from the University of South Carolina.

Mobley is innovation/FastTrac clerk for the business development/innovation department. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Furman University and is an MBA student at The Citadel.

Publishing

Dana Marion has joined Arcadia Publishing Inc. of Mount Pleasant as production editor. She holds a degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. Previously she was managing editor of Graffiti magazine.

Real Estate

Tracy Fox Low has joined the Mount Pleasant office of Century 21 Properties Plus Inc. She has four years of experience in real estate and previously was a mortgage broker for American Trust Mortgage in Mount Pleasant for 10 years.

Kim Ohlund and Patty Mogul have joined and Bambi Magraw has rejoined the Isle of Palms office of Agent-Owned Realty.

Ohlund holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts and has 15 years of experience in marketing and sales.

Mogul holds a bachelor's degree in American studies from Mount Vernon College. She has five years of experience in real estate in Colorado and South Carolina.

Retail

Taylor Abee has joined In The Bag LLC of Mount Pleasant as sales and marketing manager. She holds a degree in political science and public relations from the University of South Carolina.

Religion

Audrey Hartness has joined Sunrise Presbyterian Church of Sullivan's Island as director of educational ministries.

She holds a bachelor's degree in religion from Columbia College and a master's of divinity degree from Boston University.
