Girls' Night Out
The clothing and accessory boutique K. Morgan will hold a Girls' Night Out event with three local designers Wednesday. From 6 to 8 p.m., guests can check out vintage-inspired jewelry by Jane Pope, swimwear by Marysia and handcrafted bags by Candace Romeo. A Trish McEvoy makeup artist from Saks Fifth Avenue will do complimentary makeovers.

Trunk show
The jewelry designs of Anthony Nak will make their debut at RTW from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The trademark designs of precious and semiprecious stones draped in cascading gold chains are said to combine innovation with beauty to create the ultimate luxury.

Meet the designer
Island Pearl Company will showcase its spring collection of pearls, coral, turquoise, Thai and Tibet silver and limited-edition jewelry today from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the lobby of Charleston Place Hotel. Champagne and snacks will be served, and complimentary parking is available.
Model child
Madelyn Cline of Goose Creek has been selected as one of 20 finalists from a nationwide casting call to find the cover model for the upcoming book "The Model Child: A Parent's Guide to the Child Modeling Industry" by Nathan Yungerberg, a model scout and professional child photographer.
Members of The Model Child online community are voting this week to help cast the cover model. The winning child will receive a trip to New York City for the cover model photo shoot and the opportunity to meet with top agents from some of the leading child modeling agencies in the world.
On the bookshelf
The beauty chain Sephora has spent 10 years selling beauty products; now it's selling a book. "Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin and Hair From the Beauty Authority" offers anecdotes from beauty experts, beauty secrets from celebrities and tips on how to create a more glamorous you.
The book, written by Melissa Schweiger, a former Sephora beauty editor, celebrates the chain's 10-year anniversary. It's available for $27.95 at Sephora.com, Amazon.com, Sephora stores and major bookstores.
