Alltel Wireless network service restored

Service has been restored to Alltel Wireless network customers at 12:50 p.m.

There had been a service interruption along South Carolina’s coast, from Charleston to the Myrtle Beach area, a local Alltel sales representative said.

About 25 people have gone to the North Charleston Alltel store on International Boulevard trying to find out why their phones won't work.

A sales representative there, Lamar Monroe, said they don't know why the network is down, but that technical staff is working on it.
