Storage bins

About 84,000 children's storage bins, made in Taiwan by Magus Industry Co. Ltd. and imported by L G Sourcing Inc., because the bins' surface paint has high levels of lead. No injuries or incidents have been reported. The bins are wooden and come in pastel green or pink. They were sold at Lowe's retail outlets nationwide from March 2007 through February this year. Pesto

Bella Cucina is recalling 6- ounce glass jars of porcini and parmesan pesto, because of the potential for bacterial contamination. The pesto's pH is higher than it should be, and the jars could harbor Clostridium botulinum, bacteria that can produce the toxin that causes botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. No illnesses have been reported. The pesto was sold by mail order and in stores around the country in jars marked with lot numbers 0081028 and 0081018. Details: by phone at 678-539-8400.

Lawn mowers

About 530 lawn mowers, made in Italy and imported by Kyodo America Industries Co. LTD. of Lawrenceville, Ga., because the blades continue to rotate when the mower is lifted from the ground and the spacing on the side of the lawn mower could allow room for a consumer's foot to go beyond the shield and be struck by the blade, posing a laceration hazard. The company has received one report of a consumer lifting the mower from the ground and suffered minor lacerations. Table saws

About 13,000 DeWalt DW744 Jobsite table saws, made in Mexico by DeWalt Industrial Tool Co., because the pivot bracket can separate, causing the blade and the fence to be misaligned, possibly causing the saw to kickback. The company has received one report of a misaligned blade but no reports of injuries. The saws were sold at home centers and hardware stores around the country between April 2007 and January 2008. Beach chairs

About 800 Rio Beach High-Boy folding beach chairs, made in China by Rio Brands, because the chair's rear leg can break, posing a fall hazard. The company has received one report of an incident involving minor bruises. The recalled chair has a wooden arm with an attached storage pouch and cell phone pocket. Dinnerware

Lifetime Brands Inc. is recalling certain patterns of plates and bowls because they could be contaminated with the toxic heavy metals lead and cadmium. The company's Nautica J Class Red dinner plates, Nautica J Class Red salad plates and Pfaltzgraff Villa della Luna dinner plates were recalled for containing high levels of cadmium. In addition, Pfaltzgraff Villa della Luna soup and cereal bowls were recalled for containing high levels of lead. No injuries or illnesses have been reported. The recalled products were sold individually and in sets both online and at stores around the country. Lapel pins

About 71,000 character-themed lapel pins, made in China and distributed by Nintendo of America Inc., because they contain high levels of lead. No injuries have been reported. The pins, which vary in size and feature 12 different Nintendo video game characters, were sold at Nintendo stores in Redmond, Wash., and New York, N.Y., between April 2004 and November 2007, and distributed to video game and electronic store employees over the same period.
