Accounting

Jennifer Gahl and Jennifer Lollis have joined the Charleston office of WebsterRogers LLP.

Gahl is a staff accountant in BAS/Tax. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Colorado and a master's degree in accounting from the College of Charleston.

Lollis is a senior accountant in BAS/Tax. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lander University and a master's degree in accounting from Clemson University.

Automotive

Russell Jones has joined Glasspro Inc. as an auto glass technician. He has 25 years of experience in the glass industry, including several years as an auto glass technician.

Education

Reagan S. Flemming has joined the Charleston School of Law's Office of Diversity as a fellow. She holds a bachelor's degree from Furman University and is a graduate of the Charleston School of Law.

Engineering

Jack Walker has joined GEL Engineering LLC and Jim Holtzclaw, Tom Hutto and John McLure have been named principals.

Walker is a senior scientist. He has more than 15 years of experience in permitting and project coordination, and previously was a project manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Holtzclaw has worked for the company since 1989. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry.

Hutto joined the firm in 1987. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in geology.

McLure has worked for the company since 1990. He holds a degree in civil engineering.

Steve Wall, Chris Taylor, Joseph Schaefer Jr. , Laurie Rhodes, Mike Kendall and Thomas Baumberger II have joined Davis & Floyd Inc.

Wall and Taylor are senior civil engineers. Wall holds an associate degree from Trident Technical College and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University. Previously, he worked for Connor Engineering Inc.

Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee. Previously, he worked for Trico Engineering Consultants Inc.

Schaefer, Rhodes and Kendall are civil staff engineers. Schaefer holds an associate degree from Trident Technical College and a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from The Citadel. Previously, he worked for Henry T. Welka and Associates PC, in Erie, Pa.

Rhodes holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from Clemson University.

Kendall holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Baumberger is a civil designer. He attended California Polytechnic University and previously worked for Trico Engineering Consultants Inc.

Insurance

Herbert Weldon Jr. has joined Select Health of South Carolina Inc. as associate vice president of business development. He has more than 25 years of management experience in health care and finance, and previously was president of Weldon Management Associates LLC; Medicaid director for the District of Columbia; and deputy commissioner of Medicaid for Georgia. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in finance and marketing from Northwestern University.

Medical

Gregory Johnson and Jacqueline Powers have been promoted at Palmetto Behavioral Health System.

Johnson is executive director of Palmetto Lowcountry Youth Service. Previously, he was lead counselor for CiviGenics at the Turbeville Correctional Institution and was an alcohol and drug abuse counselor for five years for the Youth Offenders Intensification Program. He holds a bachelor's degree in social work from Limestone College, a master's degree in clinical counseling from Webster University and is a doctoral candidate at Capella University.

Powers is clinical director of youth services. Previously, she worked for the Pederson-Krag Center in Smithtown, N.Y. She holds a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Oswego and a master's degree from Long Island University.

Nonprofit

Lindsey Pakkala and Laura Kate Whitney have joined the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Pakkala is programs manager in the Business Development/Innovation Department. She holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Michigan State University. Previously, she was event coordinator for the Downtown Improvement District in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Whitney is programs manager in the Membership Development Department. She holds a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary communications from the University of Alabama. Previously, she was an independent event producer and designer.

Performing Arts

Anthony Pierce has been named director of artistic operations for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. He joined the orchestra in 2003 as director of operations and personnel. Previously, he was a CPA with KPMG LLP in Nashville and worked for SunCom in Charleston. He has performed as a cellist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra and the CSO. He holds degrees from Furman University and the University of Tennessee.

Research

Mary Saady has been promoted to program administrator supporting the National Shipbuilding Research Program in the Advanced Maritime Technology unit of the Advanced Technology Institute, an affiliate of the S.C. Research Authority. She is a student at Limestone College.
