2nd man arrested in Bojangles' shooting
The second suspect wanted in the shooting and attempted armed robbery of an employee outside a North Charleston Bojangles' restaurant has been captured by police.
Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, police received a tip on the whereabouts of Travis Jones, 27, who has been wanted in the Feb. 4 nighttime robbery of a Bojangles' cook. North Charleston Police, members of the U.S. Marshals Service and the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office responded to 401A King Bird Lane in Summerville. Jones was located in a rear bedroom and taken into custody following a brief struggle.
Jones is expected to appear before a bond judge this morning. He was wanted on charges of attempted armed robbery and assault and battery with intent to kill.
Charleston County authorities earlier arrested the other suspect in the robbery, Clevon T. Rogers, 19, in an unrelated case. Rogers, a former Bojangles' employee, also is charged with attempted armed robbery and assault and battery with intent to kill.
Bojangles' cook Charles Hamilton was taking out the trash when two men wearing skeleton suits and skull masks tried to rob him. He was shot multiple times but survived. Hamilton told police he recognized Rogers' voice during the robbery.
