Charming your grill

Wednesday, March 12, 2008

First there were wine charms, now comes "Grill Charms."

Both have the same purpose: to help people keep track of what they're eating or drinking.

Grill Charms were created by Charleston entrepreneur and stay-at-home mom Leslie Haywood. The dime-sized pieces of stainless steel have a serrated stem and may be affixed to meat or vegetables.

A "Steak Collection" of six charms indicates preferred temperatures by letters: R rare, MR medium rare, M medium and MW medium well.

Another six charms in the Spicy Collection have decorative heads with peppers representing varying degrees of heat (mild, medium and spicy), for foods such as barbecue chicken or jerk pork.

Grill Charms are sold in several area stores, including Charleston Cooks! and In Good Taste.

Visit grillcharms.com or call 437-7079 for more information.
