Hoodies
About 4,800 hooded sweatshirts for girls, made in China and distributed by Rebelette International Trading Corp., because a drawstring through the hood could pose a strangulation or entrapment hazard. No injuries have been reported. The sweatshirts were sold at Marshalls stores and children's clothing shops around the country between July and September 2007. Details: 626-448-9988.
Rattles
About 2,000 Infantino "Lamb Grabby Rattles," made in China by Infantino LLC, because the tail portion of the lamb-shaped rattle can detach, posing a choking hazard. The company has received eight reports of tails detaching but no reports of injuries. The rattles were sold at stores around the country between September 2007 and February 2008. Toasters
About 482,000 Hamilton Beach and Proctor-Silex toasters, made in China and imported by Hamilton Beach Brands Inc., because the toaster can remain on even after the toast pops up, posing a fire hazard. The company has received 63 reports of toasters that were on in the up position, but no reports of injuries or fires. The toasters were sold online and at department, grocery, home and mass-merchandise stores between August 2007 and February 2008. Candle holders
About 18,000 silver square tealight candle holders, made in the Philippines and imported by Pier 1 Imports Inc., because the spacing of the candle holes can allow the surrounding material to heat up and cause the candles to burn faster and higher than ordinary, posing a fire hazard. The company has received seven reports of high flames but no reports of injuries. The tealight holders were sold at Pier 1 Imports stores between June and December 2007. Trucks
About 100,000 2008 F-Series trucks made by Ford Motor Co. because the front driver's seat does not conform with federal standards. The weld connecting a bracket and the driver's front seat back could crack on a small number of vehicles. No injuries have been reported. The recall covers F-250 through F-550 Super Duty trucks. More than 87,000 of the trucks are in the United States and 14,000 are in Canada. Owners will be notified of the recall this month. Details: 800-392-3673.
Compressors
About 64,000 Strike Force portable air compressors, made in China and imported by Advance Stores Co., doing business as Advance Auto Parts, because the motor can overheat and cause the protective cover to catch fire. Also, the cover might not prevent electrical shocks if the compressors are touched. The company has received four reports of fires but no reports of injuries. They were sold at Advance Auto Parts stores around the country and by www.partsamerica.com between October 2006 and December 2007. Car seats
About 67,000 child car seats made by Combi USA of Fort Mill because federal tests show the seats might separate from their bases in front-end collisions. The company has received no reports of injuries. The recall involves the company's Centre, Centre ARB and Shuttle seats, as well as the travel systems containing the Centre and Shuttle seats. The recall covers seats produced between October 2005 and December 2007. Consumers can contact the company to obtain a free retrofit kit. Gas connectors
About 50,000 gas connectors made by Sai lin Ke of of Beijing, China, and imported by LDR Industries Inc. of Chicago because connectors can leak propane or natural gas, posing a fire and explosion hazard. No incidents have been reported. The recalled LDR series 1200 gas connectors are used mainly with gas space heaters. The recall includes connectors with UPC codes 019442405489, 019442019464, 019442018917, 019442405496, 019442018900, 019442018894, 019442400224 and 019442405731. They were sold at hardware stores in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida from August through September 2007. Details: 800-545-5230, ext. 2345.
