Meeting set for new interchange, I-26 widening
staff report
Monday, June 23, 2008
MONCKS CORNER Berkeley County residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting Thursday night about the plans to widen part of Interstate 26 and build an interchange at Sheep Island Road.
The State Infrastructure Bank has promised the county $115.8 million to build the interchange and widen the interstate from the U.S. 17A exit to one mile past the Jedburg exit. The plan also includes building extensions from the interchange to a proposed Sheep Island Parkway and Old Dairy Road.
The money wasn't available this year but the county is moving forward with planning anyway.
The drop-in style meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sangaree Public Library, 595 Sangaree Parkway, Summerville.

So we're gonna build a new interchange so we can develop more land so more transplants can move down here & continue to overrun us. Nice.
