An employee was forced to watch a "horrific attack" on a female co-worker last month during a robbery at the Noisy Oyster on Rivers Avenue, North Charleston police detectives said in affidavits released Friday. Police have arrested three men suspected in a series of robberies and one attempted robbery that occurred between April 28 and Monday. The suspects usually were armed with at least one stun gun and a handgun and hid in the bushes outside businesses before employees left, police said. The employees of the Noisy Oyster were forced back inside the business around 3 a.m. May 25, police said. One suspect held a gun to a female employee's head and forced her to perform a sex act, according to affidavits. They incapacitated her boyfriend, also an employee, with a stun gun before they left the restaurant, affidavits stated. "She has been completely traumatized and terrorized by this event," the woman's father said during a bond hearing for Corey Nelson Larkin, 18, Joshua Andrew Monroe, 19, and Bryan Leon Mulligan, 19. "What I'm most thankful for is that I did not have to attend any funerals. They held a gun to their heads," the victim's father said after the hearing. He and the woman's boyfriend asked Magistrate Linda Lombard to keep the three men in jail. "They showed they didn't care for life or the well-being of others," the boyfriend said. Larkin and Mulligan were already being held in the Charleston County Detention Center on charges of kidnapping, second-degree burglary and attempted armed robbery in the attempted robbery Monday of Chuck E. Cheese on Rivers Avenue. Monroe was being held on a charge of kidnapping in the same crime. The following charges were added Friday: Larkin and Mulligan were charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime (three counts), armed robbery (four counts), kidnapping (four counts) and second-degree burglary (two counts). Monroe was charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime (three counts), attempted armed robbery, armed robbery (four counts), kidnapping (five counts) and second-degree burglary (three counts). Lombard set bail at $25,000 on each firearms charge, but denied bail on all other charges.

Harpo,
I couldn't agree more!
Not only am I in the habit of locking my car doors when I leave my house but I have made damn sure that my teen daughter is aware of the dangers she may encounter now that she is driving. In fact, the doors to her vehicle lock as soon as she starts it up.
We feel much safer at home with our large dog and shotgun.

Remove all three of these dirt bags from the face of the Earth.
Innocent, hard working people should not have to suffer at the hands of such low-lives. How long are we going to coddle criminals? How many innocent people have to go to work only to have a gun shoved in their faces? How many women have to be assaulted? It’s time to get tough on crime. Think about this case the next time you want to whine about a 17 year old that commits armed robbery getting too harsh of a sentence. THIS is what happens when criminals are treated with kid gloves.
The victims deserve justice!

One can only hope these cases are handled correctly right away from start to finish the first time to ensure the victims and community don't end up with even more mistrials!!

Lock them up and throw away the key - no bail, no pity, no
mercy!! Give them what they gave to all of the folks who were assaulted, threatened and terrorized. Nothing like a taste of one's own medicine.

Thank God!! a judge finally denies bond for thugs like these
these parasites need to be removed from the earth, a public hanging would send a message but still be too humane for them
who's the judge?? we need to thank him/her for doing something to actually protect people from these idiots
these guys need to be removed...

According to the article, two, not one, sexually assaulted this young lady. Her coworker was forced to watch. It wasn't all about robbery here. These creeps are into the power and control over helpless human beings.
It is a crying shame that the death penalty cannot be instituted in this type of situation.
I sincerely hope that this young lady can one day live a normal life, and put the humiliation and fear behind her.
It is too much to hope that these scum will stay in prison for the rest of their lives.

worthless punks. love to hear their life story. let me take a stab at it, born to single mothers, raised in public housing by a grandmother, no men in their lives at all and thank you this is what we get.
Thanks NAACP for your contributions to our society. I'm sure someone calling our CCSD "super" a bitch is a more worthy fight. How about save your young men!

So is the guy in the middle named "Moore" or "Monroe?" He is listed as Moore in the picture and Monroe in the article. Somebody needs to run things by their editor more often...

Unfortunately these guys will be out of jail before you know it. I'm sure they will get credit for time served. Then they will only have to serve, what? 80% of their sentence? So depending on the Judge they should be back on the streets in about 18 months at the most.
Then we'll get to see them all again in the P&C with new mug shots.

I thought it was 7 yrs, no parole. For using a firearm in the commission of a felony. It looks to me like 4 felonies for each of these young citizens, 28 yrs each sounds about right.

Its time to get that permit to carry I've been putting off. And maybe go back & pick up that 12 gauge pump I've been considering. I guess growing up in Texas had its good points, my step father had me out in the field target practicing by the time I was 8 yrs old. He taught me how to fire so the gun wouldnt kick back on me. I thought he was just another crazy redneck at the time.(why would a little girl ever need to know this?? I thought). Now I think I'll call him up and thank him for all those ear splitting lessons.

JDV I had my teen aged daughter out shooting targets last week as well, taught her karate most of her life... she's a black belt... and constantly upgrade her defense/offense as I learn more etc etc...
she looked at me last week n said, "all these other families do baseball, swimming teams, tennis... and we do self defense" .. I said, well we had to pick something and that's as good as anything cause it'll carry you through life a little more safe hopefully... like they say, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it
both kids do play ball and instruments as well but self defense has been a staple for most of their lives, both can fight and shoot well... and are great kind considerate people (I don't sound like a braggin dad do I ?? .. lol)
you can never learn too much of how to defend yourself, this is an ever changing world... you just need to stay realistic about it and know that that isn't a save all either, stay aware of your environment and stay out of places your instinct tells you too
and yeaaa they still call me a redneck but I'm cool with that, at least I can say I tried to do my job... lol

Thanks for the info Harpo, I'm getting right on it. And you sound a lot like my step dad Jammer, I know now how much he really cared about me. Hopefully I'll never have to deal with any badguy types, but at least I'll know how to deal with them if I ever do. With a gun.

Hello Everyone,
I am father of the young woman who was robbed and assaulted. We thank you all for your concern and support during this extraordinary difficult time. We are extremely thankful for Magistrate Lombard's decision to deny bond to these young men for their aberrant, anti-social behavior.
In our conversation with the NCPD detective we are very confident these young men will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. It will be up to a jury to decide their fate.
Please keep my daughter, her boyfriend and all of our families in your prayers.
a VERY thankful Dad
