Final Johns Island planning workshop today at 6 p.m.
Monday, June 2, 2008
Tonight the city of Charleston wraps up a series of community planning workshops aimed at developing a new zoning code for Johns Island, which could determine how the portion of the island within the city limits is developed in coming years.
The public is invited to attend the closing presentation, held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Berkeley Electric Cooperative's Johns Island district offices, 3351 Maybank Highway.
The Johns Island Smartcode Charette was intended to build on the Johns Island Community Plan, which was developed during the past two years and was adopted by Charleston City Council.
