RIDGEVILLE — Dorchester County sheriff's deputies are now confident that the same two people robbed a pair of banks on Friday and have released a new photograph of one of them.

The tall white man in his 20s pictured in the new photo is wanted in the holdups along with a black female accomplice.

Investigators think the pair robbed Enterprise Bank of South Carolina in Ridgeville around 11 a.m. and the South Carolina Bank and Trust in Harleyville about 40 minutes later. The institutions are about 15 miles apart.

Witnesses described a white man who appeared to be about 6 feet tall entering Enterprise Bank on 102 Main St. and demanding money from the tellers, deputies said. He wore a light-colored striped, button-down shirt and had a round face with short hair and metal-rimmed classes. A black woman appeared to help him escape after he walked out of the bank.

A black woman wearing a ball cap, a blue shirt and sunglasses later entered the South Carolina Bank and Trust at 122 W. Main St. in Harleyville.

Sheriff's 1st Sgt. Michael Miller said a late-model four-door Ford sedan was seen at both locations. Detectives also were able to place the female suspect from the second robbery at the scene of the earlier crime, Miller said.

Nobody was hurt in either robbery. The Sheriff's Office is helping police in Ridgeville and Harleyville with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office at 873-5111.
