Emmett I. Davis Jr. , co-founder, CEO and chairman of Davis & Floyd Inc. , has received the Service to the Profession Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of South Carolina and the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers.
Amy McAlister, with the South Carolina Federal Credit Union, has been named 2008 Woman of the Year by the Marshlands chapter of the American Women's Business Association.
SGA Architecture LLC received a Special Citation in the 2008 AIA South Carolina Design Awards Jury from the S.C. American Institute of Architects for the restoration and expansion of the Pernell Residence in Charleston.
Sam Kini, associate professor and residency director of the Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, has received the 2008 National Faculty Teaching Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians.
The following individuals have been elected officers of the Charleston chapter of the Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina for 2008-09: Melissa Petersen, Truluck Properties, president; JoAnne Polston, 1st Choice Homes, vice president; Sherran Wingler, Truluck Properties, secretary; and Ken Drachman, First Federal, and Ed Bowles Jr. , Walterboro Housing, directors.
