Meeting on Alcohol sales in Dorchester: 7 p.m. County services building, North Main Street and East 5th Street North, Summerville; entrance to council chamber in the rear off North Cedar Street. Council will consider giving initial approval to an ordinance for a November referendum to allow Sunday alcohol sales and will hold a hearing on borrowing $15 million for sewer upgrades, mostly for expanding the St. George sewer plant. Presentation on MAYBANK HIGHWAY'S FUTURE: 6 p.m., Charleston City Hall, 80 Broad St. A presentation on a consultant's recommendations for Maybank Highway on Johns Island will be given in Council chambers. In a similar presentation earlier this month, the consultant said a network of new, two-lane streets on Johns Island would be a better solution to reducing heavy traffic than widening Maybank Highway.

SENIOR HEALTH FAIR: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Chardon Place Assisted Living community, 3455 Bohicket Road, Johns Island. Free and open to the public. This health fair will focus on issues that seniors face. Vendors will include Care for Life, the Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Charleston, Roper St. Francis and others. Also available will be free health and memory screenings and balance assessments.
