Auto shopping, insured

Saturday, July 19, 2008

Known for its insurance for the military and their families, San Antonio-based USAA is branching into a new field: helping customers finance and purchase cars. The Online Auto Loan and Car Buying Service will save members an average $1,600 of the manufacturer's suggested retail price, the company said.

Zag, a California-based online auto researcher, is involved as a partner. "This product represents the next step in USAA's ongoing commitment to providing their members with best-in-class products and services no matter where they are, (whether) in the comfort of their home, in a tent in the desert, or on a ship at sea," USAA said in a release.
