Battle ended with a golf swing

A baton, beer bottle, machete and a golf club were the reported weapons of choice Wednesday night when two women got into a fight at Allway and Norman streets, Charleston police said.
Police arrived to find a 58-year-old woman with a cut on her head holding a golf club that reportedly belonged to the suspect.
A police report gave this account:
The two women got physical after one got in the other's face, but neighbors broke up the fight. The suspect said the victim came back with a baton and beer bottle. The suspect ran home and got a golf club, the report said. She said she hit the victim with the club when the woman came toward her with a machete.
Officers couldn't find any independent witnesses to the attack and arrested Terry Rivers, 44, of Flood Street, on a charge of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Her bail was set at $30,000 and she remained in the Charleston County Detention Center on Thursday.

The law regarding purchase of golf clubs need to be amended as follows:
1. Take a test, be fingerprinted, and photographed.
2. Have a "golf ball" bullistics imprint taken from a crime lab test ball hit.
3. Be allowed to purchase only one club per month.
4. Be required to keep the club dismantled, locked up, and made inoperational (unless actually in a state sanctioned golf tournament).
5. Ensure the club is only capable of hitting one ball at a time.
6. And absolutely will no one be allowed to display the club in public (without a state approved permit).

let me get this straight: 2 women get in a fight, neighbors break it up. The "victim" leaves & returns with a beer bottle, machete & a baton & lets the "suspect" whack her on the head with a golf club. I would suspect that alcohol was involved. Both belong in jail...for being stupid. I think we should have a special facility to house the criminally stupid. No sentence to exceed 3 days. Just enough to humble a person.
