Jennifer Lynn DeWinter

Birth date and place: June 1976, in South Bend, Ind.

Residence: Summerville.

Occupation: Material damage claims adjuster for Nationwide Insurance.

Family: Husband, Douglas; daughters, Addison, 5, and Ella, 21 months.

Education: Bachelor's degree in general studies and associate in dietetic technology, Ball State University, Muncie, Ind.

most fulfilling aspect of my job: Helping people get through unpleasant situations (car accidents).

most challenging aspect of my job: Adapting to different customer's needs and expectations.

Words that best describe me: Caring, sympathetic, funny, laid back and silly.

Things I do in my spare time: Play Wii (Guitar Hero), run, read books, play with my children.

The oldest thing in my fridge: A can of Miller Lite inherited from my late grandma, Ruth. She always kept it in her fridge for a visitor. I always turned down her offer to drink it. It has to be more than 15 years old and I always think of her when I see it.

Favorite childhood memory: Spending summers with my neighbors swimming in our pool.

When I was younger, I wanted to be: An astronaut.

philosophy on life: Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Don't take things too seriously. Life is too short to get hung up on the small stuff.
