Man not nude, just no clothing
Officers responded to a call complaining of a loud pool party on Center Street in Folly Beach on July 6, according to a public safety report.
When officers arrived, they found five people around the pool and two men in it, one of whom was nude.
The naked 26-year-old man was asked to get out of the pool and get dressed. He had trouble standing when he got out, put on a towel and said with slurred speech that he was not nude, reports say.
The man was issued a ticket for disorderly conduct and was given a court date.
Someone flips play equipment
A secretary at a church on Camp Road called the Charleston County Sheriff's Office after she found the church's playground equipment flipped for the fifth time, a report states.
She told the officer that nothing is ever broken; someone just flips the equipment over. She requested an extra patrol for the area to see if the sheriff's office can catch the suspect. The officer suggested installing a camera system since the playground is well-lit.
Couple robbed in rental house
A couple were robbed by a criminal as they watched from bed.
According to a report, a man and his wife were in bed in their rental house on East Arctic Avenue on July 4 when an unknown man, who the couple misidentified as one of the people staying with them, entered the room and walked directly to the dresser, taking the victim's keys and wallet.
The couple asked what the man was doing, but the unknown man, without saying a word, walked calmly out of the room and out the front door of the house.
The unknown man then entered the victim's truck, which was underneath the house, taking a handgun and a pair of sunglasses worth about $179.
While this was happening, the couple woke the father of the man who was staying in their home, and the father ran out to the truck. He saw the man walk on to the beach, and only then did the couple realize that the father's two sons were asleep in bed. The robber has not been found.
Lack of pockets costs man's wallet
A 17-year-old male was at a Folly market to buy some hot dogs July 7, and while making them, he set his wallet on the counter next to the hot dog slow-cooker because he had no pockets, according to a Folly Beach Public Safety Report. He walked over to the cash register after he was done and left his wallet behind. Once he realized this, he returned to the counter and found it was missing.
According to a report, an officer reviewed the security tape of the incident and saw that two men took the wallet, one wearing a "I'm Sticking with the Pig" T-shirt and camouflage pants. The men were not found.
Man takes board, runs into water
A man apparently wanted to re-enact a scene from "Baywatch" at Folly Beach on July 3.
According to a public safety report, a 25-year-old man took a lifeguard board used for water rescues from a lifeguard post in front of the Folly Beach Holiday Inn. He then ran into the water with it, despite several lifeguards yelling for him to stop.
They went into the water and chased him, but the man got off the surfboard and swam away. Reporting officers arrived just as the man returned to the Holiday Inn.
The man said, "It was all a joke," and that he was trying to impress some girls. Officers told him that he was putting other people's lives in danger if lifeguards needed the board to rescue a person in distress.
The man was charged with petit larceny.
These news items are taken from selected incident reports from the Folly Beach Public Safety Office and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

I think the Folly Beach Police need to be more aggressive when it comes to drugs on Folly. We have a lot of children living and coming to the beach. We need to be more concerned about our future generation. I know I would like to see a stronger generation of children that do fall victim to today's drugs. We already have too many drug addicts living on Folly. I go for walks with my own children and from Center Street to the washout about every 4th or 5th house you can smell marijuana coming from them or the people are acting so crazy you know they are on something. I have had friends visit me in the past and they told me that they have been approached on several occasions from people asking if they want to buy drugs.
I know Folly is a place that people like to come and let there hair down and have a good time as it should be. I just think it would be a nicer place without all the illegal drugs. Without the dealers we would have fewer addicts.
