Miles preaches on Russia

CONWAY — A South Carolina pastor preached his first sermon since being released this month from a Russian jail.

Phillip Miles didn't give a traditional sermon Sunday at Christ Community Church, but talked about his experience.

A Moscow court reduced his sentence to 10 months and ruled in late June that he should be freed from custody. Miles was jailed when security officers at an airport found a box of cartridges in his luggage.

He said he brought the bullets for a Russian friend and didn't know what he did was illegal.
