Arrest made in slaying
By Noah Haglund , Nadine Parks
North Charleston police have charged a man in the fatal shooting Thursday of Arthur Artrell Murray after authorities in Berkeley County arrested the suspect during a traffic stop.
Joshua Todd Williams, 27, is charged with murder, said Spencer Pryor, North Charleston police public information officer. Williams was arrested around midnight Thursday in the stop, Pryor said.
Detectives believe Murray's killing near 4600 West Montague Ave. stemmed from a botched drug deal, Pryor said.
Authorities said Murray was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead a little over an hour later at Medical University Hospital. Murray died on his 19th birthday.
Both men have criminal records.
Murray was arrested in October on a drug manufacturing charge and in April for a drug possession charge. His State Law Enforcement Division record doesn't show a disposition for those charges.
Williams has convictions for trespassing, possession of crack cocaine, manufacturing cocaine, a weapons charge and assault and battery with intent to kill, his record shows. He remained at the Charleston County Detention Center on Friday night awaiting a bond hearing.

Very simply, he needs to die! With his track record, it is not safe to EVER allow him to be out and we should not be forced to pay for this scum to live while in prison!

I would like to think that there's two more scumbags off the street, but with the shooters rap sheet, what was he doing on the streets to begin with? Something is wrong here.

Good. Two losers off the street and only one I have to pay for. Good deal for me.
