Woman insulted by strange man

A North Charleston woman recently visited a market on South Allen Drive in North Charleston and got more than she bargained for. The 17-year-old woman dropped some money on the floor, and as she picked it up, an unknown man touched her buttocks and insulted her. An argument between the two ensued, and the man eventually left the store and drove away in a Cadillac, according to an incident report.

No arrests were made at the time of the incident.

Cereal argument brings police

Police were called to a Rebecca Street home in North Charleston after neighbors saw two individuals outside arguing. The pair were arguing over cereal that someone bought with an EBT Card, according to the police report.

Motel trespassers raise suspicion

North Charleston Police officers recently were alerted to possible drug activity at a hotel on Rivers Avenue. When officers arrived at the room and announced themselves, one of three individuals inside was seen, through a window, walking into the bathroom, where he pulled an object from his pocket and threw it in the toilet.

After the officers entered the room, the individuals told the officers there was nothing illegal in the room. But one of the officers saw a green plantlike material floating in the toilet bowl, according to an incident report. Another officer opened the tank of the toilet and saw a .45-caliber semiautomatic handgun submerged in the water. All three denied ownership of the gun. The suspects were considered trespassers, according to the hotel's manager, because they were not registered to the room. No arrests were made at the time of the incident.

Woman reports obscene gesture

A Summerville woman recently called the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office about a 45-year-old man who, according to an incident report, made an obscene gesture near her home at the Parkway Apartments. The 30-year-old woman complained to a sheriff's deputy that she has had ongoing problems with the man, who was not at the apartment complex when the deputy arrived. No arrests were made at the time of incident.

Man gets upset over restroom

A St. Stephen man recently entered a quick mart on Halls Road in Pineville and asked to use the restroom. When he was told that the restroom was out of order, he urinated on 11 cartons of soft drinks worth $75.79. The man paid for the drinks and was placed on a trespassing notice by a Berkeley County sheriff's deputy. The man was not charged with a crime at the time of the incident.

Man admits to exposing himself

A Moncks Corner man is apparently having problems with his roommate. The 28-year-old man complained to a Berkeley County sheriff's deputy that his roommate, a 49-year-old man, grabbed his groin, according an incident report. The victim said his roommate often grabs and exposes himself. The suspect did admit to exposing himself the day of the incident. No charges were filed at that time.

Sandwich stolen, but returned

An unknown man recently entered a convenience store on Redbank Road in Goose Creek and tried to steal a ham sandwich. When the store manager confronted the man, who was described as bald with no front teeth, he put the sandwich back and left the store property in a four-door SUV, according to a police report. A Berkeley County sheriff's deputy conducted a search but could not locate the man.

No arrests were made.

Threatening call made from sister

A Summerville woman reported getting a threatening phone call from her sister, who said she would vandalize her house because she was recently put out of the home.

When the woman arrived at the house, various items were thrown on the floor in the living room and in the bathroom. A pail of water was spilled in the kitchen and an Xbox 360 worth $350 was missing.

The sister told the police officer that she did trash the house, but did not steal the Xbox because it already was broken. The woman told the officer that she did not put her sister out, but that she left voluntarily. She does not have a place to live and may be staying at a motel in Summerville, the woman said in the report.

No arrests were made.
