Suspect sought in beating death
Thursday, July 3, 2008
Police are still seeking a North Charleston man in connection with the beating death of Sadaris Laton Banks.
Avanti R. Spann, 25, of 2255 Mott Ave., is wanted on a charge of murder.
Banks, 46, was found April 4 in a field off Bennett Yard Road in North Charleston, said Charleston County Deputy Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal. O'Neal said he was unconscious at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital until his death May 9 of blunt force trauma, she said. On June 4, the coroner's office ruled the death a homicide, O'Neal said.
Anyone with information on Spann's whereabouts should contact North Charleston police at 554-5700 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
