The following is the children's programming schedule for Charleston County Summer Reading, which runs in July.

Mount Pleasant

JULY 3: 4 p.m.: Reptiles of the Lowcountry with Matt Olson. Discover more about the reptiles living in your backyard. Presented by the Environmental Education Division of the city of Charleston's Recreation Department.

JULY 10: 4 p.m. or July 11 at 10:30 a.m.: Houdini II. Magic is the name of this game.

JULY 17: 4 p.m.: Storyteller Mike Miller. Join the group for stories, songs and silliness.

JULY 24: 4 p.m.: Great Fettucini. A one-man circus and entertaining juggling sideshow.

Poe/Sullivan's Island

JULY 10: 10:30 a.m.: Caterpillar and Polliwog. Some animals change. Learn about caterpillars, butterflies, polliwogs and frogs. Make a critter of your own to take home.

JULY 14: 3:30 p.m.: "The Good, the Bad and the Buggy." Join Zack for stories that will bug you.

McClellanville

JULY 11: 3:30 p.m.: Cypress Gardens Presents The Bugs of the Lowcountry. Learn about different kinds of bugs and how they help our environment. Dwight Williams will bring loads of bugs for the group to examine.

JULY 18: 3:30 p.m.: Sewee Visitor Center: Ms. Julie. Palmetto bugs on parade.

JULY 25: 3:30 p.m.: Grand Finale Get Together. Enjoy the fun of celebrating your summer reading success.

Village

JULY 15: 1 p.m.: Bird Feeders. Participants will make an earth-friendly bird feeder for our feathered friends.

JULY 31: 10:30 a.m.: Houdini II: Summer Reading Grand Finale. Enjoy spellbinding magic tricks and celebrate the success of your summer reading.

Main Library

JULY 8: 10:30 a.m.: Houdini II. Magic is the name of this game.

JULY 9: 10:30 a.m.: Catch the Movie Bug! "The Game Plan" (Rated PG; 110 minutes).

JULY 15: 10:30 a.m.: Storyteller Tim Lowry. Prepare to be charmed by delightful stories.

JULY 16: 10:30 a.m.: Catch the Movie Bug! "Snow Buddies" (Rated G; 87 minutes).

John L. Dart

JULY 9: 10:30 a.m.: Movie Day at the Library. Come stay cool and watch an awesome movie at the library.

JULY 16: 10:30 a.m.: "Priscilla's Homecoming." Join Tomalind Martin Polite on a history quest from Sierra Leone to South Carolina and back again as she traces the voyage of a 10-year-old slave girl named Priscilla, her great-great-great-great-grandmother.

JULY 23: 10:30 a.m.: Capoeira: Brazilian karate Workshop. Learn about Capoeira, Brazilian karate, with Monitor Urso (Chris Pulliam).
