See A List of Charleston Restaurants Serving Up Local Seafare

A movement is afoot. The way of life that would have been very familiar to our grandparents or great-grandparents eating local (or knowing the origin of the food on your plate) is now in vogue and becoming vital for local economies. And for the Lowcountry, that primarily means seafood.

Efforts to make sustainable food more visible and available are increasing. Local organizations and businesses are working to promote the raising and consumption of local seafood, and more area restaurants are adding it to their menus. Lowcountry Living explores the places and people behind the growing movement to eat local.
