NORTH CHARLESTON RECREATION DEPARTMENT LOOKING FOR TEAM SPONSORS: The 2008 Baseball/Softball season will be starting soon and NCRD is looking for team sponsors. Levels of sponsorships range from $200 through $275. The sponsors name goes on the front of their team's shirts and the sponsor is invited to attend a banquet in October that includes all athletic volunteers and team sponsors. GOLF CLINIC: PGA Professional Mike Lucas announced here today that he will conduct a walk-on golf clinic on February 21 at Frankie's Golf Range, located at 5000 Ashley Phosphate Road. The two-hour swing clinic will be conducted from 6-8 p.m. Tuition is $20; does not include golf balls. Charleston area golfers are invited to participate.
MONCKS CORNER RECREATION T-BALL, BASEBALL AND FAST PITCH REGISTRATION: For t-ball, baseball and fast pitch softball will be held through February 22 at Town Hall for boys ages 5-14 and girls ages 5-15. CHARLESTON SHARKS AAU BOYS BASKETBALL TRYOUT: For ages 14U, 15U and 16U tryout time and dates Feb. 22-24 from 6-8:30 p.m. All tryouts will be held at the Arthur Christopher City Gym. PRO LEVEL SPORTS PITCHING PROGRAM: Pro Level Sports will be conducting an early bird pitching program for players ages 7-12 during the month of February and early March. The classes will meet twice per week for four weeks and will focus on pitching mechanics for the younger players. Great program for travel and rec ball players before the season begins. These clinics will emphasize proper swing mechanics and hitting fundamentals for today's young players. Cost is $50 for non-members and $40 for PLS members. MT. PLEASANT YOUTH SPRING TRAVEL BASKETBALL LEAGUE: Registration for the Mt. Pleasant Recreation Department's Travel Basketball League will take place through February 22. This league is for highly-skilled youth basketball players with girls in age divisions 13U, 14U, 15U and 16U and boys in age divisions U12, U13 and U14. Visit any Mt. MT. PLEASANT DIAMOND WARRIORS TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the Diamond Warriors travel baseball program's 13U and 14U leagues will be held on February 21 and 22 at 6 p.m. at the Duffy Complex. THE SOUTH CAROLINA LITTLE LEAGUE DISTRICT II REGISTRATION: For its Challenger Division, which provides the opportunity for children with mental and physical disabilities to play baseball. This league, geared toward ages 5-17, costs $25 per player. Registration forms can be obtained by calling Zap Rook at 708-7665 and must be returned by March 8. Games will be held at Summerville Little League Ball field, Crowfield Ball field and Felkel Field in Goose Creek.

COASTAL CAROLINA AQUATIC ASSOCIATION TEAMS: CCAA is looking for new teams that are interested in joining the CCAA for the upcoming summer season. The CCAA is a summer, community team oriented, competitive swimming league that currently comprises 24 teams from all over the lowcountry. Teams compete against one another during June and July, culminating in the annual City Championship meet. The CCAA is dedicated to encouraging participation by as many children as possible in competitive swimming.
