Medical bills leave couple with hefty expenses this holiday

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

Billy, 67, had a heart attack in late 2007. Since then, he's been taking 10 daily medications and using a heart monitor. Billy lives with his wife, Lily, in a rented home. The couple is in need of assistance because of their unexpected medical expenses. Your donation to the Good Cheer Fund would help Billy and Lily catch up with their finances and avoid going into debt.

Every year since 1927, six local charitable organizations have benefited from contributions to The Good Cheer Fund: The Salvation Army, Star Gospel Mission, Association for the Blind, Catholic Charities, Carolina Youth Development Center and Lowcountry Food Bank receive every cent of each donation. There are no administrative costs involved and funds are not distributed to any individual or organization outside the Good Cheer Fund agencies.

Send your tax-deductible contribution today to the Good Cheer Fund, c/o the Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800.
