Revving engine leads neighbors to wounded Columbia man
COLUMBIA - Investigators are trying to figure out who killed a man found bleeding in a car outside some Columbia apartments.
Neighbors told The State of Columbia that they called 911 after finding 27-year-old Donald Ryant writhing in the front seat of the car while investigating a noise that turned out to be the erratic revving of an engine Sunday night.
Richland County Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Myers says another witness heard a pop and saw two people running from the car.
Investigators don't have a motive or suspects in the killing. Authorities say Ryant's address was listed as an apartment less than a mile away.
