Bruce Boysen has joined Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. as department leader for the land planning and landscape architecture group, with responsibilities over offices in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, N.C., Brunswick, Ga. and Savannah. He received a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Iowa State University and a master's degree in landscape architecture from the Ohio State University.
Kevin Eakes has joined the Charleston office of Arcadis as a project designer. He has a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Technological University.
Health care
Dr. Ted Brisson has joined Palmetto Adult and Children's Urology PA in North Charleston. He has a medical degree from the University of North Carolina and has completed a residency in urology at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.
Jill Burns and Allison Nissen have joined the Medical University of South Carolina's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Burns is a women's health nurse practitioner and practices at MUSC's Women's Center at Northwoods. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Saint Francis University and a master's degree in nursing from the University of South Alabama. She has worked at MUSC since 1998. Nissen is a certified nurse midwife at the MUSC Women's Center at Northwoods. She has a bachelor's degree in nursing from Saint Francis University and a master's degree in nursing from MUSC's College of Nursing. She has been with MUSC since 2005.
Law
Jeremy E. Bowers has joined Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms LLC as an associate in the firm's civil litigation division. Previously, he was with Svalina Law Firm PA in Beaufort. He has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in accounting from the Ohio State University and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
Adam Yount has joined the Charleston office of Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd PA as an associate attorney. His areas of focus are insurance defense and coverage, personal injury and product and premises liability actions. He has a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.
Julia P. Copeland has joined Hinchey, Murray & Pagliarini as an associate. She has a bachelor's degree from Queens University of Charlotte and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law. She will practice in the area of hospital and health law.
Nonprofit
John Girault has joined the Mount Pleasant Open Space Foundation as executive director of the land conservation organization. He previously was a consultant focusing on corporate events and recreational activities, and from 2001 to 2006 he was marketing and development director for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
Office services
Shannon Tabor has been promoted to agency office production specialist for Docugraphics. She will be responsible for training Xerox sales representatives in the company's Charleston, Beaufort, and Myrtle Beach offices.
Retail
Jeremy Shelton has joined the Charleston Angler as manager of the Mount Pleasant store. He previously was in management with West Marine. He attended Thomas Moore College.

Blackbaud Inc. has announce several new management hires and promotions effective Jan 1. Robert Lewis will be business development manager on the health care and human services unit. He previously was with Manhattan Associates in Atlanta. Tracey Jackson will be consulting manager for the fundware unit. Rick Buff has been promoted a practice manager. Technology
Ron Schulze has joined the Charleston office of Integral Solutions Group as its territory sales executive for Charleston and East Coast markets for the provider of communications infrastructure and technology services. He has more than 20 years of experience. Spartanburg-based ISG is a subsidiary of J.M. Smith Corp.
Shawn Gore, Melissa Ingram and Scott Leasure have been promoted at Advanced Technology Institute, an affiliate of the South Carolina Research Authority.
Gore is senior project manager. He has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from The Citadel and a master's degree in engineering and environmental management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
Ingram is senior contracts manager. She has a bachelor's degree in business from the State University of New York at Brockport.
Leasure is senior project manager. He has a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Ohio University and a master's degree in business administration from the University of South Florida.
