SUMMERVILLE — Dorchester County voters will decide in November if they want stores to sell beer and wine on Sunday.

County council gave an ordinance authorizing the Nov. 4 referendum final approval in a quick special meeting Tuesday morning.

Even Richard Rosebrock, the lone councilman who voted against it, said he expects it to pass.

If voters approve the Nov. 4 referendum, it’s possible Dorchester County stores could be selling beer and wine by the following weekend.

North Charleston and Summerville already allow Sunday alcohol sales, as does Charleston County. Berkeley County does not, except on Daniel Island and in Goose Creek.
