It's Early Decision Day at Riley Park
Tonight, baseball fans will be headed to the polls.
Riley Park will be the site of Bobblection '08 and fans will make their choice for the U.S. president three months early.
The first 1,000 fans through the gates, regardless of age, will cast their votes by choosing between bobblehead representational of presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. There will be 500 dolls of each candidate. The first candidate to run out of dolls will be declared the winner.
Each of the six clubs within the Goldklang Group will hold their own elections and an overall winner will be determined. Obama won in New York on Wednesday at the Hudson Valley Renegades game.
The Brockton Rox held the Massachusetts poll on Thursday, and Charleston is the third stop on the tour.
The Riley Park poll will begin with voter registration for the first 1,000 fans through the gates.
Voters will then be directed to actual electronic voting booths.
The ballot also will include baseball issues, such as natural grass versus turf and American League versus National League.
This is the second time the Goldklang Group had held a Bobblection. In 2004, the organization's polls correctly predicted George Bush's victory over John Kerry.
