Accounting

Alyssa Sales and Morgan Pembrook have joined Welch Roberts & Amburn LLP.

Sales is a senior associate. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, she worked for Deloitte and Touche in Charlotte.

Pembrook is a staff accountant. She holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of San Diego. Previously, she worked for Lavine Lofgren Morris and Engelberg LLP in San Diego.

Architecture

Glenn Allison has been named a partner in Stubbs Muldrow Herin Architects Inc. He holds a master's degree in architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He has been involved in renovation projects at the Medical University of South Carolina and is working on the Athletic Training Facility at Coastal Carolina University.

Education

Lt. Col. (retired) Robert Sberna, William A. Fletcher Jr. , Bob Shipman, William Ragland and Rodger Hilliard have been promoted at The Citadel.

Sberna is director of cadet activities. He has worked for the college since 1998 as a tactical officer and staff member responsible for 1st Battalion. Previously, he served 22 years in the Air Force as an aviator, navigator and instructor. He is a graduate of The Citadel.

Fletcher is campus chief of police. He joined the college in 1990 and most recently was deputy director of public safety. Before joining the college, he worked in security for Wells Fargo. He is an Air Force veteran and succeeds Mike Bingham, who retired in February.

Shipman succeeds Fletcher as deputy director of public safety. Ragland is responsible for the operation and administrative divisions. Hilliard is in charge of investigation and training.

Finance

Dan Myklos has joined Daniel Island Mortgage as a senior loan officer. He has more than 11 years of experience in banking and mortgages.

Brad Atkins and Jeffrey Everson have joined the South Carolina Agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.

Atkins is co-general agent. Previously, he was a fee-based financial planner in Atlanta and general agent of the Central Illinois General Agency of MassMutual.

Everson is a unit sales manager. Previously, he owned an investment company in Morgantown, W.Va. He holds a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University and is an Air Force veteran.

Law

Stephanie Yarbrough has joined the Charleston office of Nexsen Pruet LLC as special counsel practicing in economic development, banking and finance, and corporate law. Previously, she was director of economic development for the city of Charleston and an attorney in the corporate and securities practice group of Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice PLLC. She holds an undergraduate degree from the College of Charleston, a master's degree from the University of Charleston and a law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Lee Anne Walters and Seth Whitaker have joined Duffy & Young LLC as associates practicing civil litigation.

Walters holds a bachelor's degree from Clemson University, a master's degree in education from Harvard University and a law degree from the University of South Carolina. Previously, she was an associate at Motley Rice LLC.

Whitaker holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University and a law degree from the University of Virginia. Previously, he was a law clerk to Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Phyllis A. Kravitch and an associate at Robinson Bradshaw & Hinson in Charlotte.

Real Estate

Jim Reese, Lonnie Plaster, Dave Sansom and F.M. Rinker have been promoted at Carolina One Real Estate.

Reese is general manager. He has worked in real estate since 1989 and previously was manager of the Metro North office. He is a Navy veteran.

Plaster is manager of the Metro North office. He is a graduate of Radford University and has worked in real estate for more than 20 years. Previously, he worked for Long & Foster in Washington, D.C.

Sansom is manager of the Coleman Boulevard office. Previously, he was assistant manager.

Rinker is selling manager of the Isle of Palms office. She is a graduate of Converse College. Previously, she was an account executive for WCIV-TV and has worked in real estate for 12 years.

Taylor Senter has joined Anchor Commercial/CORFAC International, where he will lead the market analysis division. He is a graduate of The Citadel.

Bob Simonds and Liz Simonds have joined the Summerville office of AgentOwned Realty. Liz Simonds previously taught high school English for 35 years. Bob Simonds previously was a sales representative for Cox Communications and a harness horse trainer.
