Group to mark Va. Tech shootings

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

Protest Easy Guns will mark the one-year anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings with an event at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Marion Square.

Thirty members of the group dressed in black and wearing a Virginia Tech ribbon around their neck will lie down for three minutes, said Sallie Duell, an organizer of the demonstration.

Three minutes represents the time it takes to buy a gun in the U.S., Duell said.
