Farmers Market opens for season

The Charleston Farmers Market will open for the season at 8 a.m. today, with opening day entertainment featuring the Yeehaw Junction bluegrass band from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The market is scheduled to be open every Saturday until Dec. 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Marion Square.

Market vendors sell local produce, plants, flowers and herbs, along with prepared food. The Charleston Farmers Market also showcases local art and crafts.
