Police seize cocaine valued at $14,000
North Charleston police have seized nearly $14,000 in cocaine and arrested a man accused of being a mid-level drug dealer, said Spencer Pryor, police public information officer.
The investigation closed Monday with the arrest of William Cooper, 28, of Dorchester County, Pryor said.
During an undercover operation at a hotel off Ashley Phosphate Road, officers arranged a purchase, Pryor said. He said they found more than $1,000 in cash, 129.5 grams of cocaine and 8.4 grams of cocaine base.
Cooper is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base (crack), possession with intent to distribute cocaine within a half mile of a school and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base within a half mile of a school, Pryor said.

That's not $14,000 worth of drugs that they say they turned in, an ounce is 900-1000 now and you had 4.5 ounces and 8.5 of base which is a little bit over a quarter, so where is the rest to even out to 14,000, if that's how the system works it's charging you with something you don't have or we have corruption in the system you be the judge

A fellow Deputy reported this. I guess TP their not All Bad.Lanoue disgraced the badge and will get what he deserves...Unfortunately, the good officers will have to Work Harder to Gain the Publics trust..

I say good job to the deputy who reported outrageous & unacceptable behavior of one of his own. It had to have taken a certain strength of character to cross that thin blue line.
If only more people in every profession lived up to their ethical obligation & reported the bad apples in their ranks.
