1955: Actress Debbie Reynolds married singer Eddie Fisher. They divorced in 1959.
1962: "The Jetsons" premiered on ABC. It was the first program on the network to be carried in color.
1964: Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman" hit No. 1 on the pop charts.
1968: "60 Minutes" made its debut on CBS, with reporters Harry Reasoner and Mike Wallace.
1977: "The Love Boat" premiered on ABC.
1985: "MacGyver" made its debut on ABC.
1986: "Crocodile Dundee" opened in theaters nationwide.
1991: Jazz musician Miles Davis died of pneumonia, respiratory failure and a stroke. He was 65.
1996: Actor Jim Carrey married actress Lauren Holly. She later filed for divorce.
2003: Singer Robert Palmer died of a heart attack in Paris. He was 54.
2005: Actor Ashton Kutcher married actress Demi Moore in Beverly Hills, Calif.
