Halloween Events
Check out some of these Halloween events going on this week and next:
Boone Hall Haunted Hayride
WHERE: Boone Hall Plantation, Mount Pleasant.
WHEN: Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sundays noon-6 p.m. through the end of October.
DETAILS: Take a hayride and check out the plantation's pumpkin patch, inflatable giant pumpkin, pumpkin slingshot game and more.
COST: $3 for all adults and children ages 2 and up.
Boo in the Swamp
WHERE: Francis Beidler Forest near Harleyville.
WHEN: Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m.
DETAILS: Family-friendly ghost walks though the forest begin at 7 p.m. Shopping, a reptile demo, wiener/marshmallow roast, face-painting and more. Registration is required. For more info, call 462-2150.

St. Paul's Academy Halloween Extravaganza
WHERE: 5139 Gibson Road, Hollywood.
WHEN: Friday and Saturday; gates open at 6 p.m.
DETAILS: Hayrides, a haunted house, petting zoo, greased pole and carnival food.
COST: $5 for adults and $3 for children (kids under 6 get in free). Hayride tickets are $5.
Halloween in the Swamp
WHERE: Cypress Gardens.
WHEN: Friday and Saturday 7:30-10:30 p.m.
DETAILS: Haunted boat rides in the swamp as well as haunted walking trails. Visitors also can enjoy the campfire, a marshmallow roast or some food. Call 553-0515 or visit www.cypressgardens.info.
COST: $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12.
All Hallows Harley
WHERE: Begins at Lowcountry Harley-Davidson, 4707 Dorchester Road.
WHEN: Saturday 3-11 p.m. (registration at 2:30 p.m.).
DETAILS: The Charleston Chapter of the Harley Owners Group hosts a motorcycle scavenger hunt that begins at Lowcountry Harley-Davidson and ends at Hooters near Northwoods Mall. There will be a bike skills demonstration, bike show and costume contest. For more info, visit www.charlestonhog.org.
COST: $20 per rider, $10 per passenger.
Haunted House and Hayride
WHERE: McMahon Park Playground.
WHEN: Saturday 6-9 p.m.
DETAILS: Organizers warn that this event is not for children under 12. For youngsters, it offers a "nonscary" hayride.
COST: $2 per person.
Ghostwalk and Haunted Hayride
WHERE: Summerville's town square, Main Street.
WHEN: Saturday 6-9 p.m.
DETAILS: Groups will walk through downtown and stop at various locations for a family-friendly ghost story or skit. Activities include a kids costume contest, face-painting and food.
COST: Ghost walk is $3 in advance (call 810-7219) and $5 the day of the event. The hayride costs $3.
All Treats, No Tricks fundraiser
WHERE: Trans-world Warehouse, 1553-A King St. Ext.
WHEN: Saturday 7-10 p.m.
DETAILS: The night includes a costume contest, silent auction, music, food and beverages. Proceeds benefit the Family Resource Center for Disabilities and Special Needs and the Parent Training and Resource Center (www.frcdsn.org).

Costumes for a Cause Halloween Ball
WHERE: 10 Storehouse Row in the Navy Yard, Noisette, North Charleston.
WHEN: Saturday 7 p.m.-midnight.
DETAILS: There will be a celebrity-judged costume contest and silent auction. Admission includes all alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, heavy hors d'oeuvres and dessert.
COST: $65 per person, $110 per couple in advance (available at www.scleep.org or by calling 800-7DAY-OAK); $70 and $120, respectively, the day of the event.
Pirates of the Scaribbean
WHERE: The Plex, 2390 W. Aviation Ave., North Charleston.
WHEN: Saturday 8 p.m.
DETAILS: The winner of the contest gets $5,000. Also up for grabs are trips to Aruba, the Bahamas and Jamaica.

Fish-or-Treat
WHERE: S.C. Aquarium, 100 Aquarium Wharf.
WHEN: Tuesday 5-7:30 p.m.
DETAILS: Come dressed in creative costumes and participate in the costume contest.
COST: $5 for members; $8 for nonmembers. Reservations recommended. Call 577-FISH or visit www.scaquarium.org.
Halloween Carnival
WHERE: The Isle of Palms Recreation Department, 24 28th Ave.
WHEN: Wednesday 5-7 p.m.
DETAILS: This is a family event that offers games and prizes at the annual costume contest for all ages. There also will be jump castles, inflatable slides, an obstacle course, face-painting and balloon animals. For more info, call 886-8294.
COST: Free.
Vickery's costume contest
WHERE: 15 Beaufain St.
WHEN: Wednesday 7:30 p.m.
DETAILS: First prize is $1,000; second, $500; and, third $250. There will be a cash bar.
COST: $10.
