Lana's fall menu

Chef John Ondo at Cafe Lana will celebrate the fall season with new menu items for the fall season. Seared scallops will be served with preserved lemon risotto, calamari with roasted garlic aioli, and Moroccan spiced shrimp with fennel and lentils. House-made gnocchi will be plated with broccolini, pine nuts and raisins; crispy braised veal with gremolata; duck breast with butternut squash ravioli and sour apple gastrique.

Cabana Cachaca

Coast bartender John Acquino will compete in the world finals of the Cabana Cachaca World Challenge to be held in Rio de Janeiro in January. Locals can sample John's craft at Coast, 39-D John Street, Charleston.

Florence and Firefly

Boathouse turns 10

Buffalo Wild Wings

Minneapolis-based Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar has opened in the Centre Pointe complex off International Boulevard in North Charleston (by the Tanger Outlet Mall). The restaurant's specialty is New York-style wings with a variety of sweet and savory sauces. Look for a sports bar setting with 30 HDTVs and seating for 225 guests.

Beaner's coffee

Station 41 Shopping Center, at the corner of U.S. Highway 17 and S.C. Highway 41, is the latest location for the Michigan-based Beaner's Gourmet Coffee Shop.

It features specialty teas, pastries, fruits and sandwiches. This site at 1055 Hwy. 41 has a drive-through window and Wi-Fi Internet access.
