Mitt Romney's wife to speak at Therapeutic Riding lunch
Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, Inc. of Johns Island will host its first Blue Ribbon Luncheon at noon Oct. 18 at the Francis Marion Hotel in downtown Charleston.
The featured speaker is Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
Ann Romney will share information about her continuing efforts on behalf of disadvantaged children and women, including, as first lady of Massachusetts, her personal battle with multiple sclerosis and the role of equine therapeutic riding programs for children with disabilities.
Proceeds from this luncheon will aid CATR's scholarship students taking part in therapeutic riding programs over the next year.
Call CATR at 559-6040 for reservations. The cost is $60 per person. (Tax deduction amount will be stated later with a notice in the program.)
Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding works to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities at the areas only nationally accredited therapeutic riding center.
