O'Hara & Flynn

On May 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. O'Hara & Flynn, 160 East Bay St., will feature an appearance by Italian winemaker Lorenzo Fasola Bologna, the CEO of Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio. He will visit Charleston during Spoleto, and O'Hara & Flynn will feature red wines from Spoleto, Italy.

Tastings at J.Bistro

J.Bistro will host a wine tasting Tuesday night. The tastings will run from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Pasquale Pellicoro will host. Guests may sample about four varietals while enjoying finger foods supplied by the restaurant. The cost is $10 per guest. J.Bistro is on Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant. 'Third Thursday Schmooze'

Good Food Catering's Third Thursday Schmooze, "A Taste of the Lowcountry" edition, will take place tonight 5:30-8:30 at the Historic Rice Mill Building, 17 Lockwood Drive, at the City Marina in downtown Charleston

Guests will enjoy a tailored menu of Lowcountry fare that will include grilled finger sandwiches, pecan-crusted chicken and Lowcountry boil, just to name a few of the items on the menu.

Award-winning Muscadine wine will be provided by Charleston's own Irvin-House Vineyards. Planter's Punch will also be served, and the Black Tie Swing Band will perform. Coastal Cigars will have a premium cigar bar on-site. Cost is $25 per person, which includes food, wine, gratuity and tax. Tristan/Spoleto wine dinner

The wines of Villa Monte Vibiano Vecchio will be showcased in a special, four-course dinner at Tristan on May 24. The dinner is priced at $75 plus tax and gratuity. A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner seating is 7.

Known for producing soft, distinguished and highly structured red wines, the vintner will showcase four of its wines. Executive chef Ciar n Duffy has paired four courses, plus an hors d'oeuvres reception featuring Blanco Umbria, with the wines.

>Fish hosts wine Wednesdays

From from 5:30 to 8 p.m. every Wednesday, Fish restaurant at 442 King St. will host "Wine Wednesdays." Guests at the restaurant can enjoy live music by local performer Eddie Stonaker and half-price wine by the bottle. >Raval tasting

Raval will host its weekly Flight Night Tuesday from 5 p.m. to close.

Three flights of wine will be offered, each featuring three different wines served in 3-ounce (or half-glass) portions. Prices vary, depending on the wines selected. Raval is at 453 King St., downtown. The phone number is 853-VINO.

Evening wine flights

Amuse features nightly wine flights Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. Each flight features five different wines with a specific theme.

The cost is $5 for five (2-ounce) pours. The wines featured in the flights on any given evening also will be sold by the glass.
