Trident United Way offers $10,000 match for firefighters fund
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
Trident United Way will match the first $10,000 contributed to the City of Charleston Firefighters Fund to encourage support for the families and co-workers of the nine firefighters killed in Monday’s tragedy.
Often there is emotional fallout from tragedies like this, the worst loss of firefighters in the country since 9/11. Anyone needing help can call Trident United Way’s 2-1-1 Hotline
(dial 2-1-1 on a landline, or 744-HELP on a cell phone) for emotional support, information and resources, or just to talk. 2-1-1 Hotline volunteers also have information about how people can help the firefighters’ families and colleagues.
To contribute, funds should go to The City of Charleston Firefighters’ Fund, P.O. Box 304, Charleston, SC, 29402.
