Tammie M. Phillips and Tracy Mabe have joined Ryland Homes.
Phillips is a sales assistant at Pembroke at Park West. She has worked in local residential real estate sales for more than six years, most recently as a sales consultant for Keller Williams Realty.
Mabe is a sales assistant at Brickhope Plantation in Goose Creek. She holds an associate degree in business and has more than six years of experience in new home sales.

Melissa R. Whetzel has joined the Division of Marketing and Communications of the College of Charleston as news manager. She holds a bachelor's degree in media arts and design from James Madison University. Previously, she was director of investor and community relations for the Charleston Regional Development Alliance and a reporter for ABC News 4 in Charleston, WCYB-TV in Bristol, Tenn., and WHSV in Harrisonburg, Va.
Law
William H. Lyon has joined Trask & Howell LLC as an associate. He holds a bachelor's degree from The Citadel and a J.D. degree from the Charleston School of Law.
Catherine H. Chase, Matthew Oliver Riddle and Brandt R. Horton have joined the Charleston office of Young Clement Rivers LLP as associates.
Chase joins the commercial litigation and appellate group. She holds undergraduate degrees in psychology and studio art and a J.D. degree from the Charleston School of Law.
Riddle joins the workers compensation group. He holds an undergraduate degree in music and a J.D. degree from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law.
Horton joins the trucking and transportation, product liability and retail liability groups. He holds an undergraduate degree in political science and a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina. Previously, he worked for Finkel Law Firm.
Barbara Wagner has joined Barnwell Whaley Patterson and Helms as an associate in the intellectual property division. Previously, she was a research chemist and a chemistry instructor at the College of Charleston. She holds a bachelor's degree from Indiana University, a Ph.D from the University of California, Davis, and a J.D. degree from the Charleston School of Law.
W. Siau Barr Jr. has joined Barr Unger & McIntosh LLC as an associate practicing real estate, construction, environmental law and civil litigation. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston and the Charleston School of Law.
Marketing
Nancy Lyons has joined Trio Solutions Inc. as administrative assistant. Previously, she was manager at Gallery on Market and worked as an administrative assistant for KidsAbilities. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Appalachian State University.
Medical
Lynn Haney-Singleton has been promoted to chief nursing officer at Trident Health System's Summerville Medical Center. Previously, she was associate chief nursing officer. She holds a pre-nursing degree from the College of Charleston and a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in nursing administration from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Nonprofit
Tracy Middleton-Smalls, Teresa White and Melissa Wright have joined the Hanahan Road office of the Trident One-Stop Career System as work force specialists.
Middleton-Smalls holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from South Carolina State University and completed the Criminal Justice Academy in Faulkner, Md. Previously, she was an intake and probation counselor in the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court Services Unit of Arlington County, Va., for 11 years.
White holds a bachelor's degree in business management from South Carolina State University. Previously, she was a program assistant for the South Carolina Employment Security Commission.
Wright holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Winthrop University. Previously, she was a program assistant for the S.C. Employment Security Commission.
Personal care
Denise Acanfora has joined The Barber Shop at Northbridge on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard as a barber. Previously, she worked at Mooney's Barber Shop for 22 years.
Real estate
Debbie Gammon has joined StructureOne Real Estate Services in North Charleston.
Angie Burns Riley, Harry Gethers, Latisha Meyers-Brown and Tom Brock have joined the Summerville office of Weichert Realtors-Dean-Kelby.
Riley holds a bachelor's degree in economics from North Carolina State University.
Gethers has 24 years of experience in real estate and was a housekeeping supervisor for NucleaR.
Meyers-Brown holds an associate degree in allied health and has worked in health care.
Brock holds an associate degree in business and previously was a sales representative.
Sharon Lewis and Charlene Boone have joined the Summerville office of Century 21 Properties Plus Inc.
Lewis has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and previously worked for Realty World in Huntsville, Ala., and owned an agency, Lewis & Co. , also in Huntsville. She holds a bachelor's degree from Chadron State College in Chadron, Neb., a master's degree from the University of Nebraska and is a master's student at Indiana State University.
Boone owned Interstate Paving Co. in Pennsylvania for 22 years.
Staffing
Kim Bivens has joined the temporary staffing division of Dunhill Staffing Systems of Charleston as staffing manager. She has several years of experience in executive search and interim executive staffing.
