Date and Place of birth: July 1984, in Durham, N.C. I grew up in Liberty Hill.
Occupation: New North Charleston and Berkeley County reporter for The Post and Courier.
Residence: Liberty Hill.
Family: Parents, Seth and Carrie Whipper; a sister, Subira Whipper; and grandmother, Lucille Whipper.
Church: St. Matthew Baptist Church on Reynolds Avenue in North Charleston.
Education: 2002 graduate of the Charleston County School of the Arts; bachelor's degree in English from Morehouse College in Atlanta.
Best qualities: I'm personable and affable.
My Worst habit: Talking loudly in public.
Dream vacation: Monaco or Martha's Vineyard.
Hobbies: I love drawing and singing, reading and writing.
If I won the lottery, I'd: Start a magazine or a clothing line, and then give some to charity.
How I keep in shape: I go running every morning. I skip every once in a while.
One thing I must have in my refrigerator at all times: Mayonnaise. I put mayonnaise on everything.
Fond childhood memory: Being with my grandfather and going to my grandparents' house in Mount Pleasant to eat after church.
I'm addicted to: Fashion.
Someone famous I'd like to meet: Oprah Winfrey.
Greatest accomplishment: Getting my driver's license in my freshman year.
A day of my life I'd like to relive: In February, I got to present Dr. Michael Lomax at the fundraising gala at my school. He is president and CEO of the United Negro College Fund. It was so fun, but I'd like to do it again to make it perfect.
Brush with celebrity: One of Denzel Washington's friends was getting an award at the gala, and Washington sat at the same table with me, the college president and Dr. Lomax.
If I knew today were my last day on earth, I'd: Hold a press conference and tell everyone how much I love them.
Three words that describe me: Stylish, humble and talkative.
A goal: To purchase my first vehicle, hopefully a sleek SUV.
Something I've learned over the years: When people show you who they are, believe them the first time.
A technological invention I wouldn't want to live without: My cell phone. It's my lifeline to the world.
If I could change one thing about the world today, it would be: All the boring shoes and bad suits that American men wear.
Something my mother always told me: Write things down and ask questions. Go figure.
